After our tour was over, we drove over to Cumberland Falls State park and stayed at their lodge. There was a pool so we of course took advantage of it. What 5 (almost 6) year old doesn't love to swim?

| We took a hike Sunday morning over to the Falls. Elaina was ready - I think this shot is funny. It was pretty impressive except I was disappointed at how commercialized it was - big parking lot, gift shop, etc. I thought it would be more of a quaint little path that opened up into the falls...Oh well, still worth seeing. I want to go when the moonbow is shining |

I feel like I close every blog this way but I'll say it again.....It was a very relaxing and enjoyable weekend as a family. Good memories made.

We did the scenic railway back in August. We thought it was fun too. Aren't you glad you weren't a mom living in that mining town?!
I've been waiting to see how your weekend was!!! I love love love really old towns/houses/buildings. Looks like a super great weekend! So glad you guys got to go!
Marta- I hadn't thought about that, but yes, I am glad I wasn't a mom in that town. I can't even imagine.
I have to say, I wasn't that excited about going to do this (Erik was the one pushing to do it) but I am so glad we went. It was definitely worth it and Elaina enjoyed it more than I thought she would.
