Easter egg dying/painting

Keeping with tradition....we got together at my mom's house this year for our annual Easter egg dying and painting.  This year, my sister Abby and her 2 girls, Sadie and Celia, came into town to join us.  As always, we all had a fun time hanging out together and decorating eggs.  My mom spends several weeks (not straight) blowing the yolks out of eggs a couple at a time and washing them out to prepare to decorate them.  I really love doing this and love that it has become such a great tradition.....

Now, on to shots - I forgot my camera so these are phone camera shots...they are okay, I guess.  Something to capture the memory....

All the grand kids - Celia, Quentin, Alexandra, Elaina, and Sadie (it was also Quentins' birthday so we celebrated him turning 13!!!  holy smokes, how is that possible??)

In related news.....

My dear friend Tami told me I should do a "paper chain" to count down the days to the move....  Great idea, but I didn't do it.  UNTIL...I got tired of Elaina asking me incessantly - "when is April?" "when is April?" "When is it going to be April?"

So.... Ms. Tami - we did it!!  We made a chain and we are tearing off a link each day to count down the big day.  You know what?  She hasn't asked me when April was since the day we made it.

AND

It's been fun to watch her do this.

It's not very long but that's okay.  Still fun.  She is saving all the links that she tears off in a pile.  Wonder if I have a hoarder on my hands???

Sorry for all the house posts - we are "all things house" these days.  Just excited and ready to be in.  One day soon, I will post about something else.... like Elaina :)  HA!!

House update #10....

I thought that number 10 might be the last one, but it isn't... But, nevertheless....we are super duper close.  Now, onto some pictures:

Cabinets delivered....in a huge pile in the kitchen

Bathroom countertops placed...

Fireplace installed....we weren't going to do this right away and decided to go for it...so, we had a huge hole cut out and put in a wood burning insert.  We are happy we decided to do this now.

That's about it for today.... We are less than 3 weeks out.  Lets just cross our fingers it all get done quickly.  It should.  We basically have the tile around the fireplace, finishing the plumbing fixtures, finishing the last of the electrical, finishing the floors, and carpet left.  oh, and paint touch ups....All of these except the hardwood floors are 1 day jobs.  Fingers crossed it comes together - we are SOOOOO ready!
