Sun and Sand

The fun continues.... Lots of sun, sand, water, and good times.  The weather is amazing - hot and sunny.  Monday and Tuesday pics below....... (WARNING: this is a long post)
Every morning the kids eat breakfast here....

Monday - The Ford children with Erik and Justin... Elaina got a face full of water on Monday morning and will not go in the water past her knees....

Here we are trying to convince her to go in.

This was the kids watching their dads body surf.  They cheered the entire time (literally) - Go Daddy, Go Daddy, Go, Go, Go Daddy!  Very entertaining.  Non stop cheering.  Even passers by thought it was entertaining.

Later that night, it was a run to the pier for gelato... a pose on the pier of Lil Miss Elaina

Olivia and Elaina

First it was matching PJs, next is matching hair do's

The kiddos

Tuesday Erik, Elaina and I hit the beach in the morning... Elaina buried her legs up to her knees in the sand

I haven't posted any pool pics... we've spent a good amount of time in the pool, probably more than the beach

This cracks me up... Elaina has decided she loves to jump in like this, a pencil jump - although when she did it she did not know it had a name.

Tonight we went and ate at this place called Dewey Destin - It should be called DELICIOUS Dewey Destin.  It is a bit of a dive but the food is amazing and the atmosphere is great - right on the water.

The gang.... minus Erik who was taking the picture

Justin, our resident photographer took this shot - LOVE it.

The Fords - me, the not so resident photographer, took this shot

This is the restaurant.... not much to it, looks like a strong wind could blow it over and it probably really could.

They cook out of a food truck out back.

Afterwards, Erik and I took Elaina to one of those go cart/bumper boat/ride places.  Super fun.  We just loved hanging out with that sweet girl.  We had a great time - especially her.  We enjoyed watching her have fun.

Airplane

Carousel - this kids loves them.  If she sees one, she has to ride it.

Bumper boats - this was very entertaining.  Erik took her, he got soaked.  It was fun to watch.

This is him soaking me... look at his face.  So mean!

Ferris Wheel

Train ride

We topped off the night with ice cream.  Yum!  This trip has been so much fun so far....  More to come.   Thank for tuning in....

Beach Trip - We made it!!!

It's officially summer and we kicked it off with a trip to Fort Walton Beach, FL for a week!  Woo hoo!  We came with our good friends, The Fords, and so far, so good.  We made the long drive yesterday with little to no trouble other then why does it seem like the last 2 hours of getting to the beach seem like an eternity???  But, nevertheless, we made it.  Here are some pictures of the fun times so far....

When we got here Saturday evening, we hit the beach to put our fingers.......

......and toes in the sand.

Erik made Elaina's name out of the seaweed, and Elaina posed for a picture with it

The girls got matching Hello Kitty jammies - they were a hit.  They hit the hay Saturday night to get ready for a long day

One more picture from Saturday evening.... Tami walking down the beach with Olivia and Isaac.  Very sweet.
First full day in the sun.....  Elaina loves the water.  Such a nice change from when we came a few years ago.  She's all about it now that she is a bit older.  She and Erik got a lot of good play time in the ocean

A family pose....

After the pool, lunch, and naps, we took another trip to the beach for some sand castle building.  The kids made a "city" with a wall around it.  City complete with church, fire station, and tunnel.  Here are the architects and constructors of the great city - Isaac, Elaina, Olivia, and Tami.

Stay tuned for more action from the shores of sunny Florida.......

Daaaaaaaaaaa, da, da, da, daaaa, da. Daaaaaa, da, da, da da

That post title was my attempt to type out the melody to the graduation march (Pomp and Circumstance)... how did I do??  Did you get it??  And while we are on that - what a weird name for that song.  Going to have to google the meaning of the title.  Anyway, on to the point.  We got Elaina's pre-k graduation pictures back yesterday.  I just took a picture of the picture (our scanner is broken) so you could take a look at the cuteness....  We love it, but we are, after all, her parents.  Enjoy!

Pre-K Graduation

This past Saturday, Elaina's school had her graduation ceremony from Pre-K.  Graduation?  Yes, that's what I said.  I thought it was a little strange but a lot of schools do it.  I was thinking it would be adorable and it did not disappoint on the adorableness :)  Elaina had been very excited the weeks prior to it.  She kept talking about her graduation practice and how she couldn't tell us what she was learning.  They even incorporated some Mothers Day stuff in the middle of it.  I loved it - cried tears throughout but that is to be expected.  Here are some pics of the day....

A pose at the house before we left

Processing in... she caught a peek at her Papaw

I purposefully chose the seats I did because I knew she was on the front corner.  I thought she might jump off the stage to me since she's pretty shy but she didn't.  She did stand at an angle though for the first few minutes of the show.  All the other kids stood straight on.  It was funny but great - almost like getting my own performance.

I can't remember what the teacher was saying but she made this funny face at what she said just as I was taking her picture.  Funny.

With her diploma

With daddy

And mama....

Justin, Anna Grace, and Elaina.  These 3 are the 3 in her class that have been in the program since 1 year old (the earliest you can join).

Elaina with her Mamaw and Granny

Elaina and her good friend, Katherine

Elaina and Mrs. Nikki
And one video of a song they sang - this one is sort of long but cute.

We pretty proud parents of Lil E how well she has done at her school. Soon we'll be off our next journey - grade school!!  She has the summer left to finish out at Two by Two but in August she starts Kindergarten...  I can't believe it's right upon us.
