Disney Day 7 and the last

It's really almost August and I am just now getting to the last 2 days of our Disney trip.  Eye-yi-yi!

On to the the final round:

Day 7 left us alone....and by alone, I mean the Hall's and Breaux's left that day.  So, we went one last day to Magic Kingdom to hit a few things.  We had fast passes for something in the morning (I can't remember what it was - an Ariel ride, I think).  My camera was with us but I think I had worn it out that I don't have many pics from this day.

We were able to connect with our friends, the Whiteheads, for a little bit to catch up.  It's a long story but the ride we were both supposed to ride on that day at different times broke down temporarily which meant that once it came back up, we were able to ride the ride together.  Then, later that day, we met at the Mine Train where Kim let Elaina use her fast pass so she could ride another ride with her friend Madison.  It was so perfect and was a lot of fun to be able to do some things with them. Elaina loved to be able to hang with Madison some.  We also rode over to Tom's Sawyers Island together to let the kids play while the adults chatted.  That was nice.

Some pictures of Elaina and her friend, Madison, on Thunder Mountain.

Waiting in line

And one from the Mine Train:

We spent the morning at Magic Kingdom then made the afternoon a pool day.  Which was nice.  I have NO pictures from any of our pool trips.  But, it was a pool - there was water, there was concrete, there was sun, and fun.  Got it?  Okay.

Some shots from the last moments at Magic Kingdom....

In front of Belle's castle

And, one final one in front of Cinderella's castle
Later that evening after the pool, we headed over to Hollywood Studios for dinner and to see Fantasmic.  Fantasimic was a cool laser light show with water - right up Eriks' alley.  We all enjoyed it.  It was a great way to close out the week as at the end pretty much every Disney character rode on a boat in front of us and sailed out to end the show...a good way to say good-bye!

Day 7 - Our last day

It's always sad to leave vacation...no matter where you go.  This was one was extra sad just because the build up to it and the planning of every details was so much that it was hard to believe it was over.

We spent the morning at the pool again.  Erik got all our bags ready and to the hotel check out so Elaina and I could swim and spend the morning together - he is so good!

We left the hotel and headed for the airport....Where Elaina got a picture with a character, finally.....

This one....

Ha Ha!  Such a silly kids she is...  She said "mommy, I will take my picture with this Goofy"

And one final one with Snow White

And a shot of her riding the tram to the terminal...

One more

Overall the trip was amazing.  We made memories to last a lifetime.  Will we go back?  I'd like to, but not for a while.  Maybe when Elaina is a bit older  I am definitely glad we went.  It was fun, nice, and memorable.  Disney knows how to do it, I tell ya.  Everything was seamless, nice, and went as we had planned.

We loved sharing this trip with our dearest friends!  They mean so much to us and to have them as part of this memory is priceless!

Disney Day 5 and 6

On to day 5 - Hollywood Studios

We spent Saturday at Hollywood Studios.  Probably my least favorite park, but the adults liked it.  It was Star Wars Weekend so as you can imagine it was crowded.  They don't have much for young kids like Elaina so it wasn't her favorite but we made the most of it and we did everything we could do for young kids and she did have a good day.

Before we walked in we posed in front of the Elsa and Anna topiary statues....Elaina is freezing us

The first thing on the agenda was the Elsa and Anna sing along.  So, we strolled over to it and saw some of the sights of the park along the way.

But, not before a picture or two in front of the sign

I should know what this guy is....sadly, I don't

Along the way we saw the carriage that was used in the recent Disney movie, Cinderella.  It was very pretty and ornate....and sitting there so you could take your picture in front of it, with the pillow and glass slipper, I might add.  We girls loved this!

Elaina said the glass slipper was SO heavy!

On the way we saw this cute corner....Elaina thought it was Mary Poppins umbrella.   She's never seen Singing in the Rain so that's what she thought

Next it was on to the Frozen Sing A Long show.  It was cute

A pose in front of the stage afterwards

Next we divided up.  The girls went to a Disney Junior show with Elaina which was pretty lame.  I have no pictures of it.  If Elaina was a lot younger, it would have been fine.  She liked it because she knew all the characters and sang a long but it was not quite her thing.  Like I said...she was a little too old for it.

The guys went to a stunt show which was, in Erik's words, "SO AWESOME"  This was RIGHT up Erik's alley - fast cars, flying cars, explosions, fire.

As we walked around, we checked out the "Honey I Shrunk the Kids" attraction.  This is the huge Oatmeal Cream pie from the movie.  I was looking forward to seeing this.  If only it were real - YUM!  I love those things.  And, I loved this movie as a kid

Walking along the way, we saw Darth Vadar.  This picture makes me laugh.  This little girl was the CUTEST!!!  You can't see it in the picture but she is grinning from ear to ear at the idea of getting her picture taken with Darth Vadar.  It's just funny to see after several days of seeing little girls getting their picture taken with princesses.  And, she is so tiny next to him.  Precious.

Again, more people that I should know, but I don't

Elaina got her face painted while we were there.

I think it turned out really pretty.  Elaina liked it too

One final family picture before we left
That night we had dinner at 1900 Park Fare which is at the Grand Floridian.  Can I just say that I ADORE this resort?  This place is SO my ideal hotel.  While, WAY to expensive to stay there...I enjoyed walking around it and taking it all in.  I guess I am a bit of a fancy pants.

While we waited, Elaina and I  took some pictures - I didn't know Elaina was being silly

 Pre-dinner photo op

This was one of our favorite dinners in regards to the characters.  Cinderella, Prince Charming, and the step-mother and sisters were all there.  They were all VERY much in character, funny and entertaining.  A great dinner for adults and kids.  The step sisters were smart @$!, but in a funny way.  Prince Charming was funny too.  He said "Thank you for coming to my kingdom."  Elaina looked at him funny and then he said "you know whose kingdom it was before it was Cinderella's don't you?"  Elaina did not quite see the humor in that, but we did. :)

Grisella's face in this picture...makes me laugh.  They were all very in character, it was great!

After dinner, we parked hopped over to Magic Kingdom again to catch a few more rides.

This crystal palace was $30,000.  Erik said I couldn't have it - huh?  Weird.

While there we caught the electrical parade...I was glad we were able to see it.

Day 6 - Magic Kingdom, again (this day as A LOT of photos so you have been warned)

Can't get enough of Magic Kingdom....we came back day 6 for more.  Right when we walked in, we saw the line to meet Tinker Bell was short so we popped in.

Carl and Sabrina got this picture....this is fun

But THIS one.....it's WAY more fun, lol.  The lady in front of us said "that is the picture you need to take" - so I did :)

Elaina stood like this the whole time Tinker Bell was talking to her.  Not sure why - she was channeling her inner Tinker Bell, apparently.  Tinker Bell has a bit of a a stubborn streak so this pose of Elaina's is fitting.

Next we wondered around Magic Kingdom hitting some things we had not done yet....

This show was great.  We laughed, ironically.  ;)  And, Erik got picked on a little bit.  He picked the right seat and was the butt of some of the jokes.  Long story to explain but he was "THAT guy!"
We walked around the Swiss Family Robinson tree house which was interesting...

We rode splash mountain this day...that was fun.  Look at Carl - what a goob!

The big event of day 6 was the Bippity Boppity Boutique.  We brought Elaina's Elsa dress, and changed before heading over to it where she had her hair, nails, and makeup done.  We all 3 loved this activity!

A personalized invitation

She picked blue and purple hair extensions to add to her hair

Before
After

Her fairy godmother was so great!  We really enjoyed hanging out with her

Then we went over to get her pictures taken in their studio...

 A few outside...

And, a couple more with our camera

Behind the Sword and the Stone exhibit

She rode the carousel in her Elsa dress/hair
Next, we went to meet Elsa and Anna....a long awaited visit.

Elsa showed Elaina how to spread her cape like hers and they posed together

Sorry....there's going to be more pictures.  I can't help it.

Next we ate at Cinderella's Royal Table.  Hands down - the best meal at the place.  The experience was amazing as well.  As we waited, we got to see Cinderella, again.

Then, we waited as they called each family.  Over the loud speakers, they said "Cinderella now invites the Royal Stringfellow Family to dine with her."  I loved that.  So, on up we went....

At dinner, she got to meet Jasmine - which was cool since she hadn't met her yet

The food and the service at this place was top notch.  It was one of those places where you take a picture of your food.  So, we did.

Fancy schmancy - and DE-licious!
Erik's meal

My meal

All the children were asked to make wishes with the wands they gave them
Desserts....so cool - the writing on the plate is done in chocolate

She said she was going to turn Erik into a frog

That concluded our day - it was another late night but one well worth it.  Cinderella's Royal Table exceeded all my expectations so I was glad we splurged and did that.
